On review and up for grabs is a Little Beetle 100% Organic Cotton Velour Fitted Cloth Diaper in size One. As a new cloth diapering and blogging momma, I've decided to do my first review and giveaway on one of my favorite fitted diapers. This Little Beetle comes from my own personal stash as I just happen to have one brand new and still in the package! It has an aplix closure and is Natural.
Specifications
This diaper is super soft inside and out. It com in snaps, aplix, or without anything. It is made with 3 layers of organic cotton velour. There is a booster that is semi-attached so that it may be adjusted to front or back depending on where you need extra absorbancy. It also comes with a removable large booster for even more absorbancy, if needed. Both boosters are made with 3 layers of organic cotton velour. The back and legs have lastin elastic for stretch and to hold in messes. If you're not familiar with this type of elastic...it is very soft, retains memory well, and is resistant to bleach and sweat.
How does it fare on Imogene?
Now the directions say to wash in hot water, however, these do shrink quite a bit. Please see the picture below for comparison. I'm going to assume that this is the company's intention since everyone knows 100% cotton is going to shrink. So if you don't want it to shrink I would suggest washing it in cold water and drying on low (which is says to dry low anyway). Imogene is almost 22" long and about 12 lbs right now. I am able to pull the aplix to the smallest setting with a little room to spare still. These might fit a little big on a newborn, but you could always use a snappi to pull them tighter. The weight range listed for the size one is 6-18 lbs but I think I'll get longer use than that out of them.

If I could change a few things about it....I would make the crotch of the diaper thinner. Although this will be perfect for those of you who need it to be wider. It would also be nice if the cotton was preshrunk. Overall though I really do enjoy this diaper...I own 12 of them! They also come in one size and learners. The Little Beetle Little-to-Big one-size and the Little Beetle Learners.

ReplyDeleteMakes me sad I no longer have children that age, but they look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI love this giveaway and I am helping a friend build a stash for twins which are due in November, since she is already cloth diapering she plans on sticking with it I am hoping to get her enough cloth diapers that if she doesn't want to do wash a couple times a day she will not have to. She barely has enough to be cloth diapering 1 child right now she is cloth diapering 2 and the oldest may or may not be potty trained by the time the twins arrive.
